Wistron Expands Its Kunshan Plant Capacity for the Third Time
January 12, 2017

Wistron announced on January 9 that it will spend an additional USD 195 million on equipment procurement for its Kunshan plant, reported Economic Daily News on January 10. This is the third investment that Wistron has made for this plant with an aim to expand its smartphone production capacity. It is reported that the company is poised to compete with Foxconn and Pegatron over iPhone 8 orders while enjoying high yield rates. Since Wistron used to assemble for the iPhone 5c before, the company has stood a good chance to become the third largest contract makers for Apple's new iPhones in the future.
